This digital toolkit contains a teacher workbook and access to three ballet clips and some step-by-step tutorials.

 

This resource is unlike anything else available for dance students and educators. It contains performance clips from the Royal New Zealand Ballet, alongside video tutorials of RNZB Dance Educators Lauren Byrne and Jamie Delmonte teaching the sections.

 

Students can learn directly from the video, or teachers can learn it themselves before passing on the knowledge. These clips are accompanied by a workbook written by Trudy Dobbie that walks through the different features of Ballet and its sub-genres.

 

The content of this resource can be adapted to a number of NCEA standards making it a versatile asset to add to your teaching toolkit.

 

 

Level One Standards

Perfect for AS90002 and could be used for AS90859 with adaptions for a group. Also, great to support learning towards AS90005.
Will be able to be used for the new standards

 

Level Two Standards

AS91208 or support learning for AS91212

 

Level Three Standards

The sequences will need adaptations to meet the time requirements but there are some ideas how to do this in the resource.
AS91590 (with time extension)
AS91591 (with time extension and some inclusion of group aspects e.g. formation changes)

Dear Horizon and Passchendaele were first performed in 2015 as part of the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Salute programme, a ground-breaking collaboration with the New Zealand Army Band commemorating the centenary of the Gallipoli landings.
